① There are 2 semesters in one academic year. There are 'seasonal semesters' during the summer or winter breaks.
② The units of credit is comprised of 15 hours of class per credit in a semester. For those courses that include experiments and practice, a credit may include 30 or more hours of class in a semester.
③ Each semester is comprised of 18 credits or less. For those students who have been approved for the teaching course may apply for 2 additional credits.
④ Those students who have shown excellent academic performance (4.0 GPA or higher in the previous semester) may apply for 3 additional credits.
① A semester includes 15 or more weeks of class.
② Fifteen weeks of class are comprised of 14 weeks of class, 1 week of final examination, or 13 weeks of class and a week of mid-term and final examinations each.
③ Class is scheduled from 09:00 to 24:00. The daytime schedule starts from Period 1 (starts at 09:00) to Period 9 (until 17:50), and the evening schedule starts from Period 1 (starts at 18:30) to Period 5 (until 22:35). A daytime class is comprised of a 50-minute class and a 10-minute break, and an evening class is comprised of a 45-minute class and a 5-minute break.
④ Students who fail to attend two thirds or more of the total class hours do not qualify for grades for the course.
⑤ A class of general education course is comprised of 20 or more students. If the number of students for the class exceeds 50, the class may be divided (40 or more students if the class is for a course of major). Courses that contain experiments and/or practice may be adjusted in their number of students based on different circumstances.
⑥ If there are less than 20 students in a general education course, the class may not open (less than 10 students for a major course).
⑦ A class with 100 or more students may be opened as a lecture.
① The department that wants to open a class in a seasonal semester must fill out an application and submit it to the President 2 months prior to the first day of class.
② Required major courses are in principle unavailable during seasonal semesters.
③ Eligible Students and Credits
Seasonal semester is open to current students. Those students who wish to enroll for a seasonal semester must apply for the desired courses that do not exceed 6 credits in total.
Students must attend three fourths or more of the total days of class in order to acquire the credits.
④ A class may not open if there are less than 20 students.
